I have agreed to help out The Diabetes Football Community, to provide professional photographic support in order to help enable them to grow. As a person with type 1 diabetes who loves football myself, it is a great fit. So I'm hoping this is the start of a long-term collaboration and I can document our journey.
Below is a selection of photos from the first training session back since the pandemic's various lockdowns, of the men's UK DiaEuro squad. It is a team who has represented the UK at the DiaEuros futsal tournament - a European football tournament for players with type 1 diabetes.
The training session was held at the Worcestershire Football Association (FA) HQ. This team play futsal, an indoor (usually) version of football played on a smaller court, with rolling subs. I'm sure I'll get used to it when I give it a go myself!
It was great to meet the lads, and to start capturing them playing football, testing blood sugars and making new friends, as well as seeing old ones.
Enjoy the snaps.
