This was the first ever futsal (football) training session for women with type 1 diabetes in the UK. It was organised by The Diabetes Football Community (TDFC), a network of people with type 1 diabetes sharing their experiences with others, asking questions, seeking guidance and learning more about opportunities for people with diabetes to access football.
This session was loads of fun, everyone was very friendly with lots of laughter, and with loads of opportunities for making connections. It was split in two parts:
This was the first time most of the team who organise TDFC Womens - Louise, Lucy, Katie, Liv, Chris - had managed to get together in person as the TDFC Womens plans had come together over the pandemic.
If you would like to know more and get involved, get in touch at the social media links below - all abilities welcome.
You can catch Katie and Lucy on the TDFC podcast, available here:

I have been providing professional photographic support to TDFC in order to help enable them to reach more people. As a person with type 1 diabetes who loves football myself, it is a great fit. Enjoy the snaps below.
